Provisional Psychologist, Lauren Woods of Well Mind & Body Psychology takes you through a 5min Single Object Mindfulness Meditation. Focusing in on a single object is a mindfulness skill within Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). The purpose of this practice is to support you in training your mind to maintain focus on one object. Naturally, your mind will become distracted, but you will be guided to refocus your attention, in turn supporting you in building on your skills of mindfulness by returning to the present moment.
Whether you are familiar with DBT & wanting some guidance on the skill, or are simply wanting to engage more fully with the present moment, this practice is for you.
